Home Office

I needed to find a solution for a home office.  So I converted our rarely used 'formal' dining room.  I wanted it to still resemble its original purpose and be easily switched back for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions.  And I did it without purchasing anything new, I only used what I had on hand.

Here is what I did...

I added curtains under our buffet with fabric purchased crazy cheap on a remnant table.  All of the ugly file boxes, my sewing machine, etc. are kept here. I also have a cube in the corner with a wireless printer sitting on top.  With more curtains attached to the cube, there is even more hidding space for binders and files.

I made these curtains for $3!  I bought a whole bolt of duck cloth from a second-hand store for $3. My in-laws bought the 50's sewing mannequin for me at a junk shop.  The cute Willow House throw back apron is perfect on it. For the desk, I simply dropped one leaf on our table and pushed the table against the window.  Now when I work, I am not excluded from the famly.  And I've opened up floor space so my boys can play with cars or blocks.  Perfect solution for our family!

Because of their timeless look, the Willow House Verde Berry bowl and Villa Stoneware are great additions to the antique candlesticks on my buffet.
